What does this thread have to do with T206 cards?

Some threads are light and breezy so a little off topic banter shouldn't matter. But on serious threads dealing with big issues, better to stay focused.

The Sunny thread might have stayed on topic without the tag line of the next appearance of 3rd Bass. Of course, that line might have been put in to show where Pete's next public appeareance was. However, once that was put into the thread by the OP -- then the wandering began.

Barry,

Well said...I completely agree.

There certainly are threads which may invite a bit of wandering into the weeds. And these are fine, as far as I am concerned, so long as everyone remains civil.

On the flip side, in-depth discussions regarding topics which are relevant to this hobby, or a segment of it, should absolutely remain focused. The collective knowledge and experience of the board members here is immense. When this is channeled towards something specific, great things can (and often do) happen.

Best Regards,

Eric

My sentiments exactly! I love to sing & dance a bit, but there are certain threads that should stay on topic. (The Nash thread in question & the Bruce Dorskind passing thread are 2 that I think are perfect examples)

The initial Sunny post was about baseball memorabilia and music. In fact the first sentence was about only about a rap concert. There was nothing off topic commenting on the music half, unless the claim is the entire post was off topic.

It strains credulity to believe that Mr.Fraser's intent when initiating his thread was to promote extensive discussion of the rap music genre, and that interpreting the rap reference as anything other than ancillary to his main point -- memorabilia fraud -- reflects a serious misreading of what he was saying.

Yeah I saw it... and I gotta say that I felt kinda bad for her, an obvious derailment of the "look at me" generation. It disturbs me that this is what the pop subculture has become. This public display of grotesqueness is a direct result of absolutely zero morals in today's PC society.
