They only say 'stay on topic' when it is someone they like posting about someone they hate.

other way around and talk about laser beams, making rope out of hemp and whatever else you like for 14 pages..

on the autograph side i have a thread about heritage auctions and boxing autographs and the last several pages have been about my wife who has nothing to do with it, and gasp, no leon or dan bretta telling us to stick to the original topic of the thread which is heritage, they let it run wild because its roste being targeted. i wonder why that is? They only crack the whip when they want to - and it depends on whose ox is being gored. my opinion.

We said we wanted that one thread to stay somewhat on topic because of it's seriousness. And that was after a lot of off topic. I wouldn't call that censoring, I would call it moderating. Travis, you can start a thread about absolutely any subject (not porn please) you want to. And you know the only reason your wife entered any discussion is because she is on your site as either owner or part owner. All family members are always off limits except when they too are in the hobby (or endeavor). They can't be "in" but off limits. We'll make sure everyone is respectful, but other than that, it's an open forum..

This board appears to be moderated much like the CGC comics message boards. People are given pretty much free reign to discuss topics and sometimes threads do go OT. Sometimes there are 2-3-4 different discussions going on.
The board members are good about getting OT things reigned in and if need be the mods get involved.
I prefer this board to the PSA board as you can get deep into a topic without it getting shit down. There is actual discussion here, on and off topic, which creates a sense of community I have found lacking in other places.

why dont you tell them to lay off the family members, my wife doesnt even know this website exists, she owns her own website with money she paid for herself, and we got clowns bashing her for what? do you have a line you wont allow others to cross or are family members free game now just because we disagree?

Those people asking questions were mainly the ones who were denied membership and simply asked why...... to the person that owns the site? Nothing disrespectful about that. What's your problem? If my wife owned a site I would expect her to get questions related to the site. Is it that difficult to understand? If she doesn't want questions she should have her name removed. I feel like I am having a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

No one "bashed" your wife, Travis.

I am one of those people who was denied membership over at your "Planet."

Maybe I should just start a thread asking why I was denied membership over at "The Planet."

How about I start that thread tomorrow?

Fair enough, Travis?

I would be in favor of tighter moderation. I believe posts should stay on topic and that it is disrespectful to the OP when they stray. This view should not be construed to mean that off-topic posts cannot be insightful. Rather the poster should initiate his/her own thread to make them.

Isn't it awesome that you're still allowed to post here on Net54? As for your thread, it was over when you decided to abandon it, and your wife is not off limits when it comes to discussing the website that she "owns." You want to hide behind her name then you should expect this.

serious threads should stay on topic, as others can move with the flow of conversation. If you want to bring up a random issue way off topic just start another thread. just my opinion.
