That is a pretty impressive list of autographers, although I am not into such things. Dale Murphy would be great to see.

Is this a show worth flying to? How many tables? Is there a dealer list? Listed nowhere on the website... They give relatively little info.

I went with my son today. Not alot of people there but we had torrential downpours tonight. It was alot smaller than I anticipated.A few dealers didnt make it tonight.I think the amount of Prewar they had was pretty good for the number of tables there.Mostly T206 with a others sprinkled in as well.I didn't see any T210's which I find weird seeing as they came from a factory in Richmond.A highlight for me was meeting the author of Baseball In Richmond Ron Pomfrey. He had some nice Richmond Colt pieces for sale.Very cool guy. They had a free Redskins autograph session with former Redskin players.Im not an autograph guy or a Redskins fan but my son is a auto hound.I didn't get to pick up anything tonight but Im hopeful the dealers who weren't set up have a good selection available tomorrow.

I, too, was at the show today. As Jason mentioned, it was a lot smaller than envisioned and had a very poor turnout. PSA and James Spence were set up, but had very few customers. The same with Huggins & Scott Auctions and Goldin Auctions. The show reminded me a lot of a large mall show, the only difference was that here the dealers were all together in one area (large exhibit hall).
Admission was free and there were a bunch of former Redskins signing free autographs. There was a nice crowd in that area for a short time, until everyone who wanted autographs got them. I personally enjoyed the show a great deal, though. It gave me a chance to talk to some of the Virginia/North Carolina dealers that don’t set up in Chantilly. I understand that there will be a February 2014 show scheduled at this same location, but I wouldn’t bet on any more future shows here. All of the dealers that I spoke to had a horrible show so far. I’d be curious on what the opinions were of others after attending Saturday and/or Sunday. |
