"Farmer Tommy John"
Advertising is necessary, but play by play ads are not.
Vin Scully does Farmer John commercials to be sure, but ads embedded in the play by play are the issue. Haven't heard Vin recently, but if he were to announce a new pitcher and claim that he was recovering from "Farmer Tommy John surgery" that would be taking it too far IMO.
