Oh well, I guess snipers can tell the difference between an N167 HOF'er and an N172 common. Still went for almost 3x too much to some lucky bidder

I heard that he invented Welch's Grape Jelly also. So much for quality control at SGC.

I guess that's better than:

Great N167 large Keith!

I think the buyer of the "Mickey Welsh" should be ok; SGC covers stupid in their guarantee.

Whoever got the Wilbert Robinson landed quite a steal last night at $1400 for a SGC 40 with a decent image. The auctioneer would have been better off doing the large cards like Robinson and John Ewing first so that the losers of those auctions would stick around filter money to the other cards. By putting the expensive cards towards the end, other bidders already had placed money in their other pickups and so no longer had funds for the major cards.

Which Robinson? I didn't see one, there was a nice Bid McPhee that sold for 3300?

That would be me, Jamie! (BTW, congrats to you on the nice Clarkson.)

I placed 18 bids on those OJs last night and lost on 16 of them. On some I was close. On others I got completely blown away.

I was thrilled to land the Robinson for the price (I still had some room in my top bid). I wanted to add an OJ Robinson, and that pose was my favorite. Less often seen, I think, than the hands head high.

The other one I got was Seward for a fairly nice price:
