I don't recall ever seen a mirror example of this image, only pinbacks. Probably $4/5k

Good luck

Al

Thanks very much Al...I have now identified all of the players with your help including the Trainer and Treasurer who are also pictured as well from the 1906 photo of the team you supplied. Interesting that Doc Gessler is in the picture on the mirror but he did not play in the 1907 season yet the caption at the bottom has them as the World Champions! Go figure.

The Cubs and the White Sox played in the 1906 World Series. A pair of pins were made featuring the respective team logos, and beneath the logo were the words "Champions of the World." If the players featured on this pin/mirror are from the 1906 team of the Cubs, it raises the possibility there is also a pin/mirror featuring the players for the 1906 White Sox. To the best of my knowledge such an item has not surfaced in the hobby in over 100 years.

With your vast knowledge in this area.. I do believe this is 1 of 1 known to exist. Curious, how was this gem unearthed?

Cheers,
AL

From my end--it apparently was an item which has been handed down in the family and the person knew I collect vintage baseball items and is considering selling it. Both of us live about 75 miles from Chicago. All pictured players are 06 team members and the faces are exactly from the 1906 team photograph. Jack Taylor who is pictured on the mirror also played in 07 but not 08 with the Cubs so just figured that maybe it was 1907 carried over since the Cubs lost to the Sox in 1906. Now with this info--it makes a little more sense why the World Champions is found on there. Wow-- is all I can say about the fact it may be one of a kind....who could even put a price on it but now am certainly going to try and own it...just don't know what the value would be.

Sicollector1954 - Al did not supply the pictures that conclusively dated the photo. I did (post #8). Al told you it was 1908 (post #7).
