Eric, are the full intact boxes or have the been cut? Typically these grade authentic due to being cut outside of dimension. I am very familiar with the Stan Musial boxes. There are two versions with the only difference being the Bio/text on the box. Musial boxes sell for about $100 each in authentic condition.

Hey Matt,
They are not intact boxes, they are just the cards. Some are cut so you can still see the natural corners of the boxes and a few are cut too tight. I didn't get one of the Musials, but got these> ROYAL STARS OF BASEBALL #2 Pee Wee Reese #3 George Kell #4 Dom DiMaggio #5 Warren Spahn #6 Andy Pafko #7 Andy Seminick #8 Lou Brissie #9 Ewell Blackwell #10 Bobby Thomson #11 Phil Rizzuto #13 Joe Gordon #14 Ray Scarborough #15 Stan Rojek #17 Willard Marshall #18 Alvin Dark #19 Dick Sisler #24 Ferris Fain Royal Stars of Hockey> #6 Leo Reise Royal Stars of Movies #1 Lane #2 Granger #3 Evans #5 Blyth #6 Curtis #10 Dailey #11 Tierney #12 Ladd #18 Toren #21 Holden #25 Scott #26 Olson #37 Sterling Royal Stars of the Sky #3 F-86 Sabre #4 F-89 Scorpion #5 F-94 #7 B-29 Superfortress #9 B-45 Tornado #14 C-97 Strato Freighter #16 Skyraider #23 F3D Skyknight |

I came across some of these several years ago. I took them to the National and I couldn't believe the money I received from the basketball cards.
Your hockey card is part of a set of 8. The high bv is $750 and low book is 300. The Hockey card guide is a little vague, but these prices appear to be for the cards. I would think that the full boxes would go for more bucks. I looked through the Sport America Non-Sports Price Guide and the Non-Sports update price guide and I can't find anything on the Movies and Sky cards. Rick

Hey Rick, that is great information, thanks!
The hockey card guide must be right on... I have a standing offer of $320 for the one hockey card! I've sold some of the Movie cards now and have learned the higher numbers sell for a lot more, and a lot faster! Hope that helps someone else down the line. The baseball set has a number of variations--and most guide books will detail rarity. Some of the variations also appear in blue ink--and at least in my experience these are exponentially tougher.
You should look on eBay for Royal Dessert hockey cards. They are posted periodically and COCICOCO has 7/8 listed for a nearly $20K. So you standing offer seems considerably low. You can also find some BIN actors/actresses in the collectibles section (between 20-30). |
