I don't think he's a "great guy". He's a pathological liar, and a drama queen. He's reneged on transactions, and this is twice now that he's tried to circumvent the rules you've set forth, which are incredibly simple to understand. Most other people would take "banned from the B/S/T" forum as meaning "I can't use Net 54 to sell my cards". What does he do? He tries to sell his cards on the main forum, and when he's told that he can't do that, he creates a "hey, I'm selling these T206 cards on Ebay. And by the way, here are the prices I'm selling them for".

It's your forum, and I respect your rules, Leon. But I will never trust this guy, and I know I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Oh please, spare me another self-indulgent "woe is me" post. What you've gone through is nothing compared to what I've gone through in my life, I promise you. Yet somehow, even with medical bills that wiped out nearly all of my savings and 401k, and seeing my income cut by more than half, I was able to meet every single obligation I had, and did so without making up a plethora of excuses.

Your behavior, and your actions, do not instill confidence. So while you might seem like a really "swell guy" on the phone, or in some of your posts, in my trained opinion, your words belie something more insidious.

Add that all my friends are either dead or in jail. I had a very bad life...and try my best.

I grew up dirt poor..super bad looking clothes....almost no food...never anyone to say all will be OK. And I am probably missing another 100 things that where messed up in my life. How many of your friends have died in front of you due to been in a bad lifestyle? How many of your friends have you seen commit suicide? Me I have seen a lot of both!!

I don't really want to get involved. But...I thought you said your parent's died when you were young and you were raised by your brother.

Default working out

Craig, I agree with you about getting away from the internet and working out but Adrian also needs to be careful with that advice.

My problem is that I tend to go overboard on everything. When I first started running in 1978 I loved it so much that I soon became addicted. I had to run every day and pretty soon 5 miles a day wasn't enough. On the weekends I would run 20 miles a day, and then I had to start running marathons. Pretty soon 8 minutes miles wasn't fast enough and even in my late 30's I had my mile time down to 5:00.

When I started biking it was the same way. I did the same thing when I started fishing. I went fishing 4-5 times a week and I was pretty obsessed with it. I'm lucky that I live a mile from the Wisconsin River. Same with golf. I played golf every day for a couple of years. Now it is baseball cards.

I think a lot of us on the board have the same type of personality that I have. I'm trying to back off a little bit. I run a few miles 2-3 times a week, bike 10 miles once a week, work out at the gym twice a week, and I'm thinking seriously about giving up on selling cards and just enjoying collecting for a while.

Thank God that I can channel my energies into my hobbies instead of alcohol or cigarettes or drugs. A sex addiction might be fun!

Rick

Rick
I'm right there with ya. Was never into drugs though, and alcohol was easier to kick than I thought it would be. Cigarettes are proving tough, but I've never really made much of an attempt to quit. From what I understand, convincing yourself to quit is the hardest part... And Trust me, a sex addiction is fun on the surface, but it can be as much trouble as anything else. Even after kicking it, your mind still wanders and plots, especially with how readily accessible sex/porn is on the internet. And no, I'm not talking about this fake Tiger Woods, self-indulgent, top of the world, excuse for when you get caught crap. Which seems to be the case with most celebrity sex addictions.

Once you get your priorities straight(family, work) it's a matter of finding that glue to fill the voids.. For some it's religion, for me it's baseball/music.

Congratulation to Adrian!! 1000 posts, in what has to be record time!
I think Adrian is a wonderful member of net54. Eccentric perhaps but at least he is not a dried up prune of a curmudgeon like some of you/us constipated old farts. Many happy decades from now, Adrian might just be one of the leading lights of the hobby. I have no doubt that Adrian is a good man. Dave Pierson

Yikes.

Every day there is some drama on Net54, and every time it involves Adrian. At some point it needs to stop.

@MIke: He's now strictly focusing on a 52T set and a Mantle master set, and selling the others.

@Maniac: He sold a very valuable coin not long ago.

C'mon you two. Keep up!
