I know nothing of any of the organizations and don't know Marshall but his explaination of "Why baseball" was the best I have ever heard. He expressed himself very well.

I have often asked myself that question and have posed on this forum, with football so dominant in the TV ratings why do people prefer to collect baseball?

Growing up in the south we played football 12 months a year in the 50s & 60s and only played baseball for about 6 weeks in May and June. Basketball was something you did on a goal nailed to someone in the neighborhoods oak tree.

I think Marshall's version of "why" is just outstanding! I would also add that while I have many more football memories from my youth than baseball, they are also a lot more painful!
