No that's "typically" on the high side, I just shipped out a card yesterday, $8 in insurance for almost $2,000 in declared value.

Per the USPS website, You must be using a different USPS than I do. It's pretty close to a dollar per hundred.....

2013 rates

$0.01-50.00 $1.95
$50.01-100.00 $2.45
$100.01-200.00 $3.05
$200.01-300.00 $5.10
Per each additional $100 $1.15

Well there must be different rates per location. If I ship priority I get up $500 free insurance. After $500, the rates kick in. I just shipped a card yesterday, $5.95 for priority shipping, $8 for insurance for a total of $13.95 on a card with a declared value of $1995.

I tried to call them to find out about the shipping charge, and their phone number on their website and on their invoice is disconnected. Does anyone have a good phone number for Mile High?

$26.81 on $1,700. If $8 is fair for insurance, that leaves $18 for Fed Ex.

Their website indicated that they have stopped using UPS and do Fed Ex only

But a lot of people use USPS for comparisons anyway, I do. There might be a little profit in auction house shipping but I truly don't think it is generally a lot, after they pay all of the expenses associated. And if something looks out of line I usually call and get it worked out. I have won hundreds, if not thousands, of items from auction houses and can't recall not getting full resolution if there was an issue. Obviously I have read about some poor issues on the board but they are the exception, in my mind.
