^^^ Nice! Issued just two years after this classic matchup. Considering how great he was, I think Feller's cards are undervalued (and perhaps even Newhouser as well).

Kind of odd that Newhouser had no Bowman cards, nor any Topps before 1953. Maybe he didn't want to sign for peanuts - or was there another reason?
Bob Feller was a very down-to-earth guy, for a sports star. My old man was a big fan of Bob because they had both been farmboys and teenaged pitchers in the '30's. In the 1980's, Feller was in the habit of driving from his home in NE Ohio to Cooperstown on a regular basis, and my father always remembered having the great pitcher stop in his small tobacco shop off the NY Thruway once to buy a paper. He raved about their brief conversation for years afterward - I think it was one of the highlights of his life.
