Yes I bought them as originals in an auction and the auction had even claimed several thousand in book value for the set. I had never seen any of these up close before, but I was aware of the white reprints. These are more of a light tan color and the paper looked old. The grainy blotchy photos were probably the key that I ignored. I saw one other set like this with the blotches sell for over a thousand on ebay along time ago. I now keep these for comparison in case I ever purchase any more 1948 Swells.
