I have a great one from yesterday! I brought a handful of change to Dunkin Donuts to buy food and a drink, then came home and spent $370 on a Cy Young card off ebay before I even took a bite of a donut...I was literally being too cheap to spend a couple bucks more on real food. I weighed it out and decided DD for less than $5 was the right choice

I think you are onto something. I consider $50 for a card nothing, but will buy a plain $8 burger to save the extra buck for bacon.

Default You know you're addicted when...

You know you're addicted when you save a lot of money for a card you "have to have" in an REA Auction, only to find yourself so impatient for the auction to end that you spend it all on unnecessary cards (usually duplicates) on eBay.

Default You know your addicted when...

you try to schedule all your appointments for the day so they will not conflict with the time your mail usually gets delivered.

or when my 2 year old says "baseball card" whenever he sees a bubble mailer or manila envelope while walking through a store.

Hilarious! My two year old does the exact same thing. He walks to the box with me, gets the mail, then hands me the bubble mailers and says "here dad, more baseball cards". My wife likes to sometimes get the mail and hide the mailers just to watch me freak out.

That is one of the best things I've read on this thread in a while

Personally I would have checked the dumpster first for day olds. A buck can buy a nice vintage Topps card.

Sorry about my last post. I responded to a funny comment without reading the last couple of pages. Didn't realize this thread had gone into the Adrian Zone.

When you are visiting your in-laws in their tiny condo and your only "quiet" option to participate in REA/chat with the board at 5:30am is wedged behind the hotwater tank in the stanky storage room for 8 hours.

True story...hey Wonks!

Default You know you're addicted when...

...you complain to your 8-year old son about purchasing him a $15 Pokemon card, which he desperately wants because apparently it has special powers, and he says, "That's nothing, Dad. You have a cards that cost you $1,000!"

Game. Set. Match.
