I'll go a little further...

When you have at least one auction catalog in each room of your house; living room, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen/dining room, daughters bedroom (she likes playing with the older ones that I don't have an interest in keeping). When the catalogs are current they rotate around my house including the back patio.

...when, as a seller, you become so enamored with your inventory that you just let it pile up and instead of selling, get cheaper in other areas of life.

Well if Leon is willing to share his dreams...

I also don't really collect T206 although I do have a few. Two nights ago, I had a dream where I was on an adventure with several friends to collect one of every front in order to turn them in for a giant framed picture of the T206 Wagner signed by every player in the set. Only one of these pictures was available so their was an intense hunt to be the first to complete it. The rest of the details are kinda vague but I remember having to lie, cheat, steal, negotiate, and avoid being killed by the other collectors (and some gangsters who were out to make a buck) during the adventure. Last thing I remember was standing in front of the giant picture (we are talking like 6' x 6') hanging on the wall, examining all the individual autographs on it, and then my alarm for work went off =(

I know what you mean. I just spent $10,000+ in REA, and I'm trying to get another year out of a 1996 Honda Civic with 340,000 miles on it.

Those 90's Honda cars are damn near bullet proof. I bet you could keep going a lot longer with a good tune up

Good one Craig. Zone I enjoy your passion.

My response to the original thread would be you know you are addicted when you begin to think of how much things cost in terms of vintage base ball cards. Hmm...new carpet or another rare back for my T206 back collection.

.... you win cards on ebay with money you don't have yet. Not good, Adrian.

"Dear -----,

I made a mistake I was to receive a large amount of money by the end of May from my previous job but so seems it will be only at the end of June 2013.

Please cancel this purchase I believe that the person who bid behind me was about 5$ off my high bid I am sure he will be happy to get a second chance offer.

I truly apologize.

- 1952toppsmantle"

Hopefully you won't do the same thing to the sellers of the dozen or so cards you have won in the last couple of days.

I know I am addicted because for the past 20+ years, the best/fastest way for me to fall asleep at night has been to think about vintage bb cards and remove all other thoughts from my mind! Interestingly, I don't recall ever having a dream about cards.

When you sell off stocks and invest in vintage cards, much better return on my investment!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but the middle headstone put me in mind of Honus. It took me a minute to realize it was "Edythe" and not "Edy the". Needless to say it was a long day in the Hollywood Cemetery.
