So, I'm reviving this old thread because it's taken me this long to actually drop the money on a scanner instead of my beloved bums. Which I think is the answer to the OP's initial question, because we'd rather buy cardboard! Anyways, went to Microcenter last night and got my Canoscan 9000F (openbox, no power cord) for $36. It works so its all good, however I'm wondering if my scans are coming out OK, and or any tips my more knowledgeable form members would recommend. I have it on document, color magazine, 300dpi, lid open (all recommended in this thread), but not quite sure on the colors or even if I should mess with them.
A note on the cards. These are cards that I gave to my oldest son (as I only collect Brooklyn Dodgers now, and don't have any handy). Yes they are in screwdowns, but it should help show how graded cards would scan. |

Ben, your cards look bright and colorful to me. I don't really see any streaking or blurring on the images.
