Larry,
I have done something similar as I looked for either index cards or cuts since they are usually cheaper and took a T206 with a decent front but that had back damage and just glued it to the index card. They sell smaller ready made matted frames at many local craft stores that fit the index card size or at least close (usually 4x6). I have a number of those hanging on my walls and it looks great and fairly inexpensive for the more common autos.
