Many thanks to GoldenAge50s for this '56 Dodger Year Book...I think it's neat I'm only the second person to own this copy in almost 60 years...I'll take good care of it Fred...

Default hornsby

Was lucky enough to be the high bidder on a 1923-25 Rogers Hornsby game used bat at an auction in Little Rock, AR. It has been through a lot over the years but I intend to see it gets new life.

Great pickup Clint...glad you got that run out of the way...is it just me or does that mascot on the front of the program look a little feminine?

Thanks Dan. Yeah I thought the same thing. I don't know what's up with that. I guess they didn't like the design because they went back the Indian swinging the bat.

Default Hornsby

Roger Hornsby did not sign a contract with Hillerich and Bradsby until I believe 1926. One of these which was a sidewritten R.H. bat recently sold in the Feb. Heritage Auction. (#80097) If I remember, I saw another one as well a very long time ago as well. Pictures also apparently exist showing Hornsby in the Cardinals dugout posing with one of these R.H. bats which shows the label turned toward the camera. Thanks.

Default Hornsby

The bat is 34 inches in length. The "R" starts 6.5 inches from the end of the barrel. Knob is chipped on both sides but it is a "Hornsby type" knob. Hoping to get the bat restored in the future and then will probably send to auction to help pay for my daughters college.
