I like this line from the Item Condition section:

“my card would grade at least a 7 or 8 in today's market if it was regraded”

His reply to my email

Dear lharri3600,
i was told by a sport card shop that when my great grand father had it graded as athentic they now do the same but also put the grade on cards below the letter A ..... and the card shop said it should bring a 7 or 8 on the grade if i was to ever have it re graded again myself....

SGC has been around for decades. Don't you know it stands for Some Grandfather's Collection?

Can't wait to see his response. He wrote me the same thing. I could not think if a nice way to respond without cussing at him, so I haven't followed up yet.

He clearly doesn't understand grading as he says card would grade a 7 or 8 when SGC grades on a scale of 10 thru 88. This card would grade A every time due to being trimmed. What an idiot.

Another example of why I rarely buy on ebay from someone with less than 1000 feedbacks. Not enough history as a seller. Too many people on there lately that are looking to pull a fast one.

Most times you can get a feel for sellers by looking at other items they have for sale, feedback and the way they describe things. I have bought a bunch of things from very low feedback sellers and have rarely (knock on wood) had an isssue. Sometimes I don't like something about what I see and pass on it. After 14 yrs on ebay you start to get a feel....

+1. I've gotten lots of great items off ebay with sellers with very few transactions. In maybe 5000 deals I have only gotten screwed once. Where I worked before I retired we had an unoriginal comment that came up constantly. "You gotta read between the lines!" It's true. You can read between the lines. Lots of times there are things unspoken you can see.
