Anybody who wants to run a hobby forum without experience in the hobby is a d-bag and has no clue.

If ain't broke, don't fix it. The forum is fine as it is, why change it?

I see any money to be made with this forum to be completely secondary to the forum's main purpose, which is to discuss the hobby, share information with others, and promote the hobby to newcomers. If this guy were to buy it with the primary purpose of turning it into an investment, it'll be ruined, I guarantee it.

I'm a rookie here although I've been picking through the threads for some time. I would be gone pretty fast if this turned from an informational, friend (and collection) building site into a profit machine.

Why do you say this. I would never want to see this but someone I know who is not a d-bag makes his living buying a variety of websites that are basically forums for different groups and he has made a boatload of money on these purchases. Eventually this forum might be sold to an outside concern. I called my friend after seeing this post and he told me that he has no doubt that this forum will be worth a decent amount of money going forward.

Leon's integrity, expertise, and dedication are a big part of the success of this forum. Anyone who thinks he can do better is just plain nuts.

I agree with you and don't want to see Leon go anywhere...it takes a special dedication and love for the hobby to be where he is at. I am very thankful for this forum and honestly don't know where my collection would be right now if I was never pointed in this direction.

Although I believe there will always be people qualified for Leon's position, I think we would be hard-pressed to find a better person.
