My favorites: 1980, 1971, 1956, 1974. I don't know why, I've always loved the '80 set.

Least favorite: probably 1962. Ugh.

Seems to be a lot of hate for the 1973 set. I actually kinda like it. I really like the Clemente, for sentimental reasons.

Thanks Stache...I agree, I really like the 73s. Action shots, clear clean cards...

Of all the sets I think 57 Topps is my favorite, they just have that CLASSIC look of an era I long to be part of. The worse set by far is 72's, I just can't stand them. I am almost done with the set and the reason it's taking so long is it's really hard to spend a dime on them. It is also one of the hardest to put together...ugly high series cards, trophy cards in the high series (really, trophy cards??), and for every start you have a dang In Action to get as well. And those In Actions shots are terrible...Aaron jogging? Clemente whining? ANYTHING after 1980 is garbage, even though I do own 81-90, and I have no idea why. Really, no idea.

My favorite is definitely the 1972 set. I love all the 'in action' shots--especially the Tito Fuentes, Bobby Bonds and Roberto Clemente--and the cool 'Traded' high numbers. I know it's psychedelic looking and all, but I can't for the life of me figure out why there isn't more love for the '72s.

The worst, by far, to me is the abomination known as the 1958 Topps set. Yowza. The only saving grace are the very cool looking 'all star' cards...but there's only a handful of them.

I even like the newer stuff still, but rather put money towards vintage so my breakdown for era would be:

Like
50s: 53 and 56
60s: 61 and 63
70s: 71 and 79
80s: 84 and 89 (this is more about sentiment, I liked the 89 set when I was a child)
90s: 93 and 96
00s: 05 and 09

Least Favorite
57
67
72
87
90
03

Overall winner and loser for pre 80:
1953-winner
1972-loser

These kind of threads always drive me nuts, decision-wise. So I'll just name a minimum.

Like:
1955
1965

Dislike:
1961

I have trouble identifying cards after 1971, since I became disinterested at that point, but I will give a "like" honorable mention on the 1973, which seems to be getting a conflict of opinion. They are clean, sleek, streamlined and uncluttered.
