I have often wondered that Fred got a card as a catcher. He only caught 6 games over a three year period. Mostly a CF, but filled in everywhere as needed.

Rob, that's very cool!

In the early 80's I sent Cool Papa Bell a small 1970's card set of him, telling him to sign 1 or 2 and keep
the rest for himself. He signed each one and corrected the mistakes of the batting averages & steals that were wrong.

Your killing me here! thats the last signed goudey I need to have all the players that died back to 1974. Any chance you are going to be selling it? Ive seen two reprints signed this way as well.

I just read your article from Helmar blog about this subject. I was searching for "1933 Goudey signed" which took me to that blog, then this thread. Really enjoyed your article, it is very interesting to see how these cards were really worthless awhile ago, now you can hardly afford to buy one. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for your article, it was very insightful.

The late Emanuel Steward used to do that with his 1991 Ringside cards. I handed him one to sign and wondered what he was doing--he was correcting the typos.
