I got this in the mail today. It is not even for my personal collection as he is not an American and I only collect images of American Olympians. This signature is nice for my Olympic Autograph database. Probably the only exemplar collection of just Olympians. It does not have a full postcard back, just the address lines, but is it printed on RPPC paper so I feel it fits in the category.
This is Claes Johanson (1884-1949) - He won a gold medal in Greco-Roman Wrestling (middleweight) at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm and a gold medal in Greco-Roman Wrestling (light heavyweight) at the 1920 Olympics in Antwerpen. He also competed in 1924 in Paris, but did not medal at the age of 40. He has signed the back. Below his signature it reads: 'Olympiska Mastare 1920' - Olympic Champion 1920 and 'Goteborg, Sverige' - Goteborg, Sweden, the town he lived in. Last edited by Michael B; 03-09-2013 at 12:02 AM.
