1933 Goudey collectors here ?

I'm now 15 shy for the set (counting Lajoie and a 2nd Gehrig) and my list of hofers to upgrade is at 16.

I gotta say, between the wood boxes and the organization and the cards shown............this is one awesome post

I completed my 1933 Goudey set (-#106) many years ago. Got a large group from a guy who auctioned his "find" at the early 1970's Labor Day show in S. California near Disneyland. I only needed the Lajoie a few years later when I came across one at a local flea market. The guy had a few '33s, some R337s, a US caramel and a nice Lajoie. He knew it had value and wanted around $1500 for it, which was a little below the going rate at the time. I couldn't pull the trigger so that's my why the hell didn't I buy it story.

Wow...some impressive cards here. I'm not a set collector but I really like this set and someday want to add a some HOF's like Foxx, Dean, Grove etc. I only have two, #144 Ruth and #92 Gehrig, as of now but hopefully that will change in time. Thanks for sharing.

He was the pitcher for Babe Ruth's Called Shot in the 1932 World Series. Two days before his death he said, "I gave my life to baseball, and I'll only be remembered for something that never happened".
