Hi All,
I like the RRPC's being shown here. Especially true since I collect photographs and most of my concert photography is in black and white. I cannnot contribute any baseball pc's as I do not collect baseball. I am, however posting some RRPC's and one publicity PC from my Olympic archives. As I do not know how to put words between the images I am listing them first. Nate Cartmell - 1904 & 1908 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze athletics Charley Jewtraw - 1st ever Winter Olympics gold medal speedskating Johnny Garrels -1908 silver hurdles, bronze shotput. One of the greatest all-around athletes in University of Michigan history. Left end on the 1904 and 1905 'Point a Minute' football teams. Fullback in 1906 and scored the first TD at Ferry Field. Albert Gutterson - 1912 gold long jump. Official Olympic PC from Sweden Johnnie Hayes - 1908 gold marathon. Finished second, but awarded gold when Dorando from Italy was helped across the line by officials. Mort Kaer- 1924 Athletic pentathlon. 1st USC consensus All American in football. His 19 TD's in 1925 not broken until O.J. Simpson in 1968. NFL Franford Yellowjackts 1931. College Football Hall of Fame. Joie Ray - 1924 bronze track. Also competed in 1920, 1928. Inscribed to Rube Waddell, but not THAT Rube Waddell. Louis Scott - 1912 gold track. Signed on the back Oscar Osthoff -1904 gold and silver weightlifting. Lettered in FB, track and gymnastics at Wisconsin. State champ in diving at the age of 40. Football coach at Washington State 1910-1911. Hope you like them. I forgot to post these two so here they are.
1972 U.S. Olympic Wrestling team. Mailed from Munich during the games. Tallest athlete in the back row is Ken Patera. He made a name for himself in pro wrestling. Man on the left with the glasses is John Terpak. Competed in the 1936 and 1948 Olympics. He was a world champ in 1937 and 1947. 1904 Olympics - men competing in the high bar. This may be practice as the photo is dated in pencil July 26,1904 and there were no events on this day. There were gymnastics events two weeks later (Bohemian Gymnastics) and also as part of track and field at the end of August. Not all of the events in St Louis in 1904 were Olympic events. There were high school, AAU and other events which were all part of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition aka 1904 Worlds Fair. |

Names of the players were written by Graham's 1906 teammate Lew Carr.

Found this one of a 1919 UNC Baseball player. Name is written in lower right corner. I believe this is part of a set of the team all posed individually in front of the same fence.

![]() I had tried sending a PM without success. I was inquiring if you still had the postcard, and if it would ever be offered for sale? ((And yes...I know the post is 3+ year sold))) My great grandfather served on the USS Wyoming, from 1913 to 1915. I have just recently discovered boxes upon boxes of letters, and postcards of his from approx. 1909 to 1919. And in 1913, there is a letter in which he states that they were in Cuba, on training mission. So, I couldn't help but to inquire, as it would be something I would love to have, if available, knowing that my great grandfather could possibly be aboard. Please let me know! Thanks! ![]() Last edited by Filthy; 03-07-2016 at 02:34 PM. |

Matt that is from the 1908 Topeka team. The odd thing is Cuthbert is not listed as being part of that team. He's not listed the previous or following year either. I have the 1908 team postcard and he's not on it. I have a few other players from this team and would be interested in it if you want to sell it.

Yes, you are correct and I knew that. That is what happens when I post so late. I make silly mistakes.

Purchased a large lot of Lobert memorabilia a few years back which included a photo album with about 40 photos of various sizes. Many with inscriptions in Loberts hand and also quite a few RPPC's. Also included was his passport from 1913-14 world tour. I'll post that in another thread some day.
