I almost bid on that Sanella book, but I figured I would be lucky to break even. I felt sorry for him because it seemed like he thought the book was worth quite a bit.

If andrew has it and his story is to be believed, there was one heckuva conspiracy involving heritage the nuns and dr depace. I suppose anything is possible except that both stories are true.

Leon,
Thanks for outing this apparent phony. I'm wondering if there is any card other than the Wagner that would invite this much (proper) scrutiny . . . . Scot Last edited by sreader3; 02-18-2013 at 07:54 PM. |

I am still waiting. And I am still in a bit of awe that he just played it off on the phone the way he did. I was waiting for him to start laughing and say it was a big joke but he never did. I told him over and over I was looking at the card in other places, from one of the Nun's public appearances to the NY Times, to Heritage etc... Oh well...

So did he have a response to the evidence you shared with him? Or did he just keep telling you the same thing over and over? |

So here is the alternative. The real consignor is andrew's grandfather. That is boring so Heritage invents a story about nuns and gets an order of nuns to play along, or somehow feeds a phony story and phony quotes to the press who takes them at face value. The granfather or a proxy is the high bidder on a safety bid so the card does not sell and Heritage makes up a story about a nonpaying bidder. Then Heritage invents a private sale andgets amajor customer Dr. de Pace to play along. Meanwhle the card is really in Tennessee with Andrew. Ok.
