Hmm,

http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Curt_Raydon

Seems he developed a cyst on the middle finger of his pitching hand, and arm issues, and was sent to AAA the next season. Never made it back to the majors.

Well, if you're only going to make it for one season, that's not a bad one to have. Bet he has some stories to tell the kids and grandkids. He played with a couple future Hall of Famers in Clemente and Mazerowski.

Picked up this cool card...I've never owned a Ralph Kiner, and I still don't, lol. Part of a trade with Jason my brother for his extra 65 Mantle and for his 54 Bowman set...

I never used to like the 54 Bowman's, but have developed an affinity for them lately.

I'm not sure why, maybe the facsimile auto at the bottom, and the good pictures.

Nice Kiner.

Nice Kiner, but I'll never get used to seeing him in anything but a Pirates uni.

I picked up my first Kiner about a month and a half ago, a nice 1953 Bowman. I've always liked him, and have felt he's a little underrated for somebody that won 7 straight home run titles.

Default Raydon

He had a 1960 Topps card too. As Jason mentioned he became a cop and retired to Jasper in east Texas. I think he still signs autos from

Couldn't agree more...I remember as a kid holding him in high value due to his two 50 HR years as well, anyone doing that was a God to me. Until Brady Anderson hit 50...

Another new card...down to one more for the set...Bench makes 719...

I just picked up the final card I needed for my 1970 complete set the other day. It was #702....the Bench was the 2nd to last card I picked up!

Congrats,

Rob

Wow Rob, that is crazy! What are the odds...congrats on finishing!

Unfortunately for me my last card is #712... Ive been picky and want a good price. I normally get stars first and build around them, but I just haven't found the right deal/card. I am on the hunt!

No joke on my 702....I bought my 700 Frank Robinson, and the seller inserted that card in as a "thank you" pretty early on in my quest on this set. I was VERY surprised and pleased...they got good feedback! lol...
