Which HOFers get the LEAST respect re: t206?

1946 had a large class of HOFers from the 206 set. After that you see plenty of HOFers that bring a bit less coin and its pretty much their year of induction.

1964 Huggins
1971 Beckley-Kelley-Marquard
1978 Joss
1995 Willis

when Burdick was cataloging many cards were still commons and the HOFers inducted in the first 10 years are the ones that bring the better value.

The first known cataloging appeared in a short article in a magazine in 1936. The first catalog, The United States Card Collectors Catalog, was published in 1939. During the next several years, Burdick continued his work, and in 1946 the catalog was updated and renamed The American Card Catalog.



Burdick catalogued card sets with categories designated by letters. The "T" category was composed of 20th-century U.S. tobacco insert cards. The "206" came from a sequential numbering system used to list various sets in the "T" category."

I think Eddie Collins is the king of the common HOF club. No way that guy should be common when Lajoie, Sisler and the like sell for so much more.

I agree, Eddie Collins was not just HOF, he was one of the all-time greats, and his card price doesn't reflect this at all.

Not really sure that I agree with that...Several of his PSA 7's have sold recently for $2200, plus....that is upper tier Hall of Famer price(other than the biggies- Matty, Cobb, Johnson, Speaker, etc...)

Waddell cards (both poses) bring a ton of money, especially in high grade, for what it's worth....

As new collectors venture into T206, the gap between the lower tier and the upper tier will close.
