I actually have a card I'm considering asking about downgrading. Yeah, crazy.
Especially since it's a HOFer with a fairly high grade. Like the highest grade for that subject/back high excluding ones from before poses/backs were tracked well. And it's a supposedly tough back. SC350-460 f25. I was very surprised at the grade. I think it's off by 2-3 grades. I've been trying to figure out how to present it for a downgrade and present some at the same tiime that I feel were undergraded without it seeming like an inappropriate "deal". All the undergrades are commons and most are only a grade or grade and a half or so off. moneywise I'd probably have to get bumps on all the commons to make up for the drop on the other one. Steve B

I dont think the guy with the 10 grade art shell rookie card, that was previously two grades lower is scrambling to send it in to psa or sgc or whoever graded it a ten because he thought it got a grade it didn't deserve? He is probably happier than a clam he can now charge 10 times or more as much for the card. It's like people sending in an autograph they find out to be bad, and asking psa or jsa to 'correct' the authentication and decertify it, it doesnt happen, even when collectors are made aware the certified autograph is bad, they still keep it in the holder and try to sell it. i just had an honest question with no ulterior motives, has anyone ever heard of anyone turning in a card for overgrading. maybe kendrick should start it off with the wagenr. but that's psa. The point of the guarantee isn't that you submitted the card, and it got a better grade than it deserved. It is more for the unsuspecting buyer that purchases the card, assuming certain qualities for that grade, and then when he receives the card, he finds that it is overgraded. For example, you buy a card that is graded as NM (84/7), but you find a spot of paper loss that the grader missed. You might say that you can return it if it's from ebay, but most ebay sellers will not allow returns on graded cards since they will say that the card has been set to that grade by an impartial TPG.
