71 Dead Shows from 1976-1993 qualifies me as a Deadhead but I rarely listen to them any more. I have slid into a little of this and a little of that.

Recent eargasms include...
Freddie King
Albert Collins
Lonnie Mack
Etta James
John Lee Hooker
Santana Blues Band
Sidney Bechet
Roy Buchanan
Delaney and Bonnie
Bessie Smith
Dusty Springfield
Coleman Hawkins
Kooper Stills Super Session
Gatemouth Brown
Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
Derek Trucks
Benny Goodman
Jimmy Hall
Quicksilver ...Happy Trails

oh hell, you get the idea Here are some of my wallpaper here at work.

MORE than qualified sir!! Here's one just for you. I tried to find a "short" version but we both know that's just impossible

Most times the Dead hadn't even figured out where they were going to go by the time most bands were eyeballin' a set break

Great thread !!!

Love the Zappa video.....I like all kinds of music~ mostly what I grew up with. Classic rock, metal, hardcore punk, etc. I've even seen the Grateful Dead (been to more Dead shows than I've seen them play-the parking lot was usually a true place of American freedom ).

I guess I choose what to listen to by whatever mood I'm in.

True that! I didn't know you had a little "Dead" in ya

Do you get into Dave Matthews at all?

I didn't film this, but I was on the lawn for this one. One of may favorites. It "speaks" to me.

"Celebrate we will ..... because life is short but sweet for certain"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovLO29malzA

"Two Step"

Hey, my love, I came to you with
best intentions
You laid down and gave to me just
what I'm seeking
Love , you drive me to distraction

Hey my love do you believe that we
might last a thousand years
Or more if not for this,
our flesh and blood
It ties you and me right up
Tie me down

Celebrate we will
Because life is short but sweet for
certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
These things we cannot change

Hey , my love, your can to me like
wine comes to this mouth
Grown tired of water all the time
You quench my heart and you
quench my mind

Celebrate we will
Because life is short but
sweet for certain
We''re climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
The things we cannot

Celebrate , you and me ,climbing
two by two ,to be sure
these days continue , these things we
cannot change

Oh , my love I came to you
with best intentions
You laid down down and gave to me
just what I'm seeking

Celebrate we will
Because life is short
But sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
to be sure these days continue
Things we cannot change...
Things we cannot change

Default Dead

Hi Steve-

Yeah, I can't say I'm a Dead Head but I do like quite a few of their songs...this one is probably one of my favorites:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XacvydVrhuI

Haven't really gotten into Dave Matthews much, but that was a cool clip you posted, and awesome lyrics.

Funny thing is, the Dead used to play quite a bit at the Oakland Coliseum and we'd go and spend the day wandering around the parking lot . I'd always wonder why they had so huge of a following, and that people would literally follow them across the country. I finally WENT IN to the concert at a show at the Mountain View Ampitheatre and understood the following. Experiencing the Grateful Dead live was quite the treat Space was a "unique" event.......

EK- cool song, thanks for posting that.

Also, LOVE Black Sabbath with both Ozzy & Dio.

Great thread everyone, look forward to more posts-

Sincerely, Clayton
