Default Best Pick Ups: Gloves

Like most, its far too challenging to simply pick out "The One" best pick up of 2012...truth be told, I would have to say its our new baby daughter.

Anyway, like the Academy Awards, we broke down our picks by genre....here are our best in the the vintage gloves and mitts catagory:

1. Circa 1890's webless crescent fielder's glove.
2. Circa 1900 W&D crescent padded fielder's glove.
3. Circa 1900 Reach crescent padded fielder's glove.

Now hang on...there's three more on the way.

Default Best Pick Ups: 19th Century

Not too much here in this area, but these are the circa 19th Century pieces that we acquired in 2012.

1. Circa 1880's JF Draper advertising envelope featuring Irwin style base ball gloves and mittens.
2. Circa 1850's/1860's baseball/firemen's parade belt...alot of research confirms that these types of belts were used equally by both.
3. Figue 8 style ball

Happy Hunting to all in 2013!

Thanks Matt! I would love to get a Koenig gamer one day, but I realize how scarce and expensive they are. That would be one of the biggest pickups I could ever make. I guess I will have to make do with a store model for the time being

Here is Koenig playing in the 1924 Junior World Series against the Baltimore Orioles. He filled in when Danny Boone suffered an injury.
