It was, in the beginning of the movie there are three signs for each pitcher, which are being taken down in the off-season, it was subtle, but still there.

Thought by now somebody would have mentioned it. But maybe I'm one of it's few fans "The Rookie"....not the Eastwood/Sheen flick.....and "In a League of their Own".

Anyone remember "Don't Look Back: The Story of Leroy 'Satchel' Paige", a TV movie from 1981?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082277/

I was just a kid when I saw it back then, but it made a big impression on me

As did "Pride of the Yankees". Saw it on TV one Saturday morning, I was around 8 years old and probably hooked on vintage baseball for life after that.

Afraid my baseball interest only went up to 1994.

Haven't cared about modern baseball since.

Default Baseball Movies?

I rented them all and watched them all. They all had their moments, however
the only ones I could sit thru twice were;
"League of their own"
"The Natural"
"It happens every spring"

Not really a baseball movie, but I saw Parental Guidance this afternoon. It stars Billy Crystal, who loses his job as a broadcaster for the Fresno Grizzlies (Giants farm team) - then spends time with his wife (Bette Midler) getting to know his grandkids. A feel-good, enjoyable movie, better than you might think.

And, I'll give this away. Watch for Ralph Branca. If you don't spot him, stay at the end and look for him in the credits.
