Now this will hurt the very nature of a collector's soul...but mine is to get a little better organized.

My collection will make the big move from the basement floor to the top floor this fall....scary. Not as scary as #1 son going off to college.

Default 2013 goals

At my age #1 2013 goal is 2014, after that work on finishing 2 SGC sets to go with PSA T204 Ramly and PSA E103 Williams sets. Need 3 Williams and 26 Ramlys - maybe try to get about have of what I need in these sets. Finished 1911 SGC Zeenut set this year as well as 1933 SGC Zeenut sepia set. Still need about 45 1912 Zeenuts, will try to get a dozen or so this year. Then there are still those pesty E92's. Dockmans done, but need 6 Candy, 11 Cocoa, and by the book 22 Nadja, however I don't think there are 62 nadja cards, but only 56 to maybe 60.

For 2013 I'd like to finish M116. I need two cards. Made a lot of progress on it this year.

To hit 100 t206s I would also like to add like 5 HOF'ers, a few Southern Leaguers, and become 2/3 done with my back run!

Actively collecting t206 Hall of Famers, Southern Leaguers, and Various backs in good to excellent condition. Love talking cards too.

Default 2013 Goals

Having bought like a drunken sailor in 2012, I expect that additions to my catcher collection will drop off quite a bit this coming year.

I only need a few cards from the PCL:

1912 Ralph Kreitz HRK...1912 Claude Berry Zeenut.

I would like to add some more C46 Imperial Tobacco catchers.

Looking for a nice 1915 Nunamaker Cracker Jack as well.

Would someday like to add a Carl Horner Cabinet of one of my 7 major league catchers.

Lastly, a Johnny Kling Plow Boy Tobacco Cabinet would round out my type card collection nicely.

I will be happy adding some C46 catchers, and perhaps more colored Chief Meyers S74 silks this coming year.

My goal of 2013 is to finish (minus 1) my T205 (low grade) set that I have been working on since 2007. Want to have this done before I get transferred for the last time before retirement. I probably could have finished a while ago, but got side tracked several times due to other cards that I wanted. I'm down to the final 26 (all commons except "no stats") cards and I should be able to complete by the end of the year.

Happy holidays,

Frank

Just one for me: decide whether completing the E90-1 set is a wise financial decision with my budget. If so, I'll add 1 HOF and 10 commons. If not, make serious inroads on my '51 Bowman and '53 Topps: 3 HOFs and 30 commons each.

I'd like to continue to prune back my collection like I have been doing in 2012, and continue to focus on my Ruth collection. I'd like to finish my Schutter Johnson set (I only need Si Johnson), and make some progress in these random sets I'm working on (W519-1/W590/Baguer). Someday, I'd like to pick up a CJ Cobb, T206 Magie, and/or E103 Wagner, but not sure it will be 2013 since I think this will be more of a step back year.

Continue to look for more unique items and pass on cards I can pick up any time I have the money to do so. I've been trying not to buy Goudey Ruths, T206 Cobbs, or any cards like that that are readily available any time I feel like writing a check. I want to get more obscure.

For 2013 my goals are:

1) Get the final 3, 33 WWG English-only backs (27, 73, 78)to complete that set.

2) Get 2 or 3 of the final 9 cards for my basic 205 set.

3) Get 2 or 3 of the final 9 cards for the R312 set.

4) Pick up another Geo. C. Miller to reach halfway on that set and another U.S. Caramel to reach halfway on that set.

5) Pick up 1 of the final 3 cards for the Sport Kings set.

Default 2013 Goals

2012 was my first year collecting pre-war. I have way too many interests for my wallet, but what else is new. Since I can't seem to give anything up at this point, I will focus on a little more of everything.

1. Three cards to complete the 1935 Goudey (short set of 36).
2. Pick up 10 t201 in grades SGC 80 or higher toward set completion.
3. Get the monster number over 300 (255 at present).
4. T206 Elberfield, graded. Outbid four times this year!
5. Add two of the four HOFer Cobb, Matty, Johnson, Young toward t206 HOF master set.
6. Avoid starting another set, wish me luck on this one, esp. e90-1, e91c, e95...

Default 2013 goals

My 2013 goals will be:

> trim the fat (xtra cards that don't fit my collection)

> trim the fat (from the belly)

> take a short "holiday" from collecting to enjoy the birth of my first child in April (assuming all goes as projected)

> buy only one or two *significant* cards missing from my HOF "rookie" collection and avoid falling into the trap of buying cards that only marginally fit my collection

> avoid the temptation to buy cards that I already own because the price looks "too good" and because I assume I will somehow be able to resell for more

> remind myself daily that I am NOT a card dealer, I am a card COLLECTOR!
