Those are a perfect match Rob. Well done. How did you find it? Did you know the owner? My one and only Carter: (Not a T206 though)

That's a cool pairing. Congrats on the pickup!

My only ex-Carter card, a somewhat tougher T206....

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I am unfamiliar with the rarities of T206's, but what is the provenance of the Demmitt and O'Hara? I know they are scarce, but what caused this? Did a plate break?

Thanks and sorry if you guys have talked about that a ton.

If i make any errors in this discourse, I am sure some of the wiser on the board will correct me, but Demmitt and O'Hara were traded to their new teams fairly late in the run and are only available in Polar Bear products with the new team designation and slight alterations to the pictures. They played very few games for their new teams and were not included in subsequent ATC offerings. Polar Bears were issued in the late part of 1910. It was also a scrap tobacco and not a rolled product so you are going to find very few without a few flecks of baccy on them.

Just a quick note regarding this info. Both Demmitt and O'Hara moved to St. Louis in late 1909. This was before any of the print group 2 (350 Only) subjects went into production. So all of their New York cards were printed after they were already playing in St. Louis. I don't want to derail Rob's post so if anyone would like to explore this further maybe we can start a separate thread.

I think it's pretty cool that your Plank must be the same Plank shown in Mr. Carter's album in George Vrechek's article.
