If it's a valuable vintage 3x5, I would send it to PSA and pay for them to remove it and issue a Full LOA with it.
I've talked to PSA customer service previously about doing this, but have never went forward with it. |

Thank you both, I completely agree with your assessment Scott, nice to know I'm not out of my mind for thinking that way. And mschwade, that is a very good idea as well, I didn't realize that allowing PSA to handle it themselves was even an option. Many thanks!

Cracking slabs is fun. I have only done it with cards, but I'm fully prepared to do it with all of my autos when the currently-favored alphabets go the way of GAI.

Ha! Excellent answers, and mighty, I cannot WAIT for that day. I'd take the opinion of nearly any one person on this forum over a stable of PSA "experts" anyway.
Thanks! |

Ive cracked 100's of psa slabs. They are without question the easiest slab on the market to crack cleanly.
The slabs crack so clean most of the time its a shame to throw them away. I oten use them for special projects with my own custom made label. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

What do you usually use to crack them open with? special tool? it looks like there is minimal damage to the casing...
