To me, the guy with the 'FL' shirt looks like Joe Tinker.

If someone thinks the first player looks like Al Wickland here's his photo.

It would probably be fairly easy to find a 1913 roster in the images for the Chicago papers - might even be able to find the paper with those exact photos, along with the i.d.'s

I like Bill Moriarty from the 1913 Federal League team from Chicago, basically because of the eyebrows (?) and nose for the FL player

1913 Roster
http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...gi?id=0724d373 1914 Roster http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1914.shtml My Federal League knowledge is sketchy at best. Looks like they were considered an independent/minor league in 1913 and the Chicago team went by the nickname Chicago Keeleys? Then in 1914 stepped up to major league status and changed the name to Chicago Chi-Feds, then to the Chicago Whales in 1915. All this is coming from baseball-reference.com, as do the above rosters. Dto7's Al Wickland is listed on the 1914 roster, but not 1913, but is clearly wearing the same style of uniform shown in Rhett's photo. I'm just all kinds of confused now. Could one or both photos be from spring 1914, still wearing the uni's from 1913? Rhett, are the photos you have actually clipped from the publication, or is that just how you cropped them for posting? Just wondering if there might be some other details (from the backs even) that might help to at least tie down a year on these. |

The Wickland photo is spring 1914 - they wore the 1913 uniforms at that point. Rhett's photo could be either year.
The White Sox player is Walsh. |
