Just noticed PSA/DNA made a comment under the non-authentic Robert Fitzsimmons exemplar they have posted on their web site:
http://www.psaautographfacts.com/Aut...ob-fitzsimmons "He typically signed his full name, "Robert Fitzsimmons," and would occasionally shorten his first name to "Robt."" Disregard this comment as I've never seen an authentic example of Fitzsimmons shortening his first name to Robt. There are manager signed examples of this but nothing actually signed by Fitzsimmons himself that way. If anyone has an authentic signed Robt. Fitzsimmons please feel free to post. Also noticed the Joe Louis autograph on this page is very doubtful also: http://www.psaautographfacts.com/Aut...l/67/joe-louis I'm not even sure what era of Louis' signature is being mimmicked here (below left). I would assume late 1930's? ![]() Also in regards to their comment on the Joe Frazier page: http://www.psaautographfacts.com/Aut...62/joe-frazier "A gracious signer throughout much of his life, Frazier's signature has remained relatively the same since the 1960s. It appears as a large "J" with the "oe" of his first name in the loop of his "J" followed by his last name." Another misleading comment. Joe Frazier's signature isn't relatively the same as the 1960s and in fact he did not place the "oe" of his first name inside the loop of the "J" as in the authentic 1960s examples below. He placed the "oe" as one would do normally, to the right of the "J". ![]() Authenticate: to prove or serve to prove the authenticity of <authenticate a document> For a company that makes the claim on their web site "world's leading autograph experts" according to the definition above I can honestly say that I've never seen PSA/DNA authenticate an autograph, ever. That don't prove or serve to prove anything, they instead issue a non-evidence based letter with vague and unsubstantiated comments. As always, PSA/DNA you are still invited to participate. |
