Someone isn't being paid to injure players anymore so they had to sell their ring. Sorry, I had to! BEAUTIFUL RING Michael, Congratulations! May I ask what the favorite ring in your collection is?

picked up a couple things recently:

game program, yankees white sox, july 22 1939:

game program, white sox athletics, july 13 1939:

stub from above game:

covers of above programs:

i'm not quite sure why the ticket has the july date written on it, but is clearly stamped apr 23 (which should have been a vs st louis game), but i'm told that they were aquired together, so who knows....

i'm pretty happy in any case.....

Mike,
It probably was a game that was rescheduled due to weather issues since it has Apr. 23 printed on it. Look at a newspaper from April 23rd, 1939 and you can probably confirm this.

I hope this helps!

Based on the scoring in the scorecard, the game was played on July 13. The white Sox lost 12-10 after having an 8-0 lead through the first 3 innings.

www.retrosheet.org is the go to sight to figure out these types of questions.

Doug

PS - the other one looks to be from the July 28th game as noted on it's cover.

i was speaking more as to which game the ticket stub came from, and was directly referring to the april game that looks to be the day the ticket was issued. trying to determine why someone would write the "july 13" date on a ticket that was clearly for an april game?

In football, this ring is not for everyone, but I was really thrilled to finally acquire it recently. it is 2.5 times heavier than superbowl rings from the 70's.

My favorite baseball ring is a '55 dodger player ring.

Default 4 Homerun Game Tickets

Since there are not too many tickets in this collection I am trying to get all 4 homerun game tickets. The newer ones aren't real difficult but older ones obviously are. I just managed to get this Joe Adcock stub off Ebay. July 31st, 1954. I still need Lou Gehrig 6/3/32 in Phila, Chuck Klein 7/10/36 in Pitts, Rocky Colavito 6/10/59 in Balt Willie Mys 4/3061 in Mil. & Mike Schmidt 4/17/76 in Chi.

Curious, does anyone know where we can find tickets? I've been looking for marlins tickets from 5-14-1998 to 5-22-1998 for about a decade it feels like.
