Something on printing plate?

It's likely something scratched the plate, or that there was a bit of stuff on the master when that particular transfer was made laying out the plate.

Hi Pat

I was going to take a shot at answering your question, but I waited to see if Steve B would chime in. I knew he could answer your question better.

As far as seeing other Pastorius cards with this blue line, I've have seen two others. See scan below.

I saw one at this year's National and contemplated buying it, but I had already picked up a Pastorius for my set. My Pastorius has a blue dot on his cheek. Not to mention his hat lines are way out of whack.

Are these random spots/lines common? Not really (my opinion), but if you look at enough T206s you will notice little prints defects on other cards.

For instance, I have seen a few McBride cards with a blue spot on his left hip and there are other T206s with random blue spots on them.

Not all of these cards are mine.

I like the B minus response.

It ould be more explainable if the minus appeared on more of his cards. Something from the making of the printing plate.

Litho plates eren't etched or cut in. It as a chemical reaction on a completely flat plate. Not sure the relevance of that fact to this error, but figured I'd point it out.
