There really weren't many high grade cards known at all. Maybe a few 7's, but certainly no 9's or 10's. Now they are relatively common. That said, the whole group will still find their way into collections.

Hi Scott- Oops! I forgot about your set. Sorry.

But other than yours, weren't high grade E98's almost nonexistent (pre- Black Swamp, of course).

I'd look at the black swamp find as the only high grade e98 market. Before there was a mid grade market.

Lets say last year you could get a cobb in ex for around 6k, after the find, if you have 6k you're probably still going to compete for an ex example.

You are 100% correct, Barry... just havin some fun with you since I happened to check in on the board and saw your post.

Thanks to all who are posting photos from this years National on the thread. It is much appreciated since it looks like I'm not going to be able to make it down there this weekend.

I enjoyed the video of the 1st day of the National but it looks like attendance is really down I know it is just the first day but it looked kind of sparse.
On the E98s, other than Scott's mind blowing set, I considered my E98 set of 5s a "high grade set." Now that is out the window with the Black Swamp Find. I still think low and mid grade E98s will continue to hold steady, just my 2 cents, regardless of how high or not so high the blazers from the Find go for. I do think the gap between E98s and E94s, however, will continue to escalate. The E94s have become very scarce, especially in nice condition....

Bob- E98's in a 5 are now scarcer than those graded 8 or 9. Kind of a bizarro world.

If those photo's were during business hours it looks like a small crowd.

Yesterday was my first national, so I have nothing to compare it too. But in my opinion, there weren't many people there. I'm guessing it was because it was Thursday and there were very few autograph signers. I'd expect it to pick up the rest of the week.

That said, I spoke to a handful of dealers and all said they were doing well. One dealer in particular said that he already had his best National and he'd been doing it for ten years. His sales were mostly on signed memorabilia as I recall.

Next to the Ty Cobb back is one of the brown OM overprints. Could someone take a better pic of it?

Watch the video link I posted earlier. It shows quite a bit of the memorabilia.

Made it to my first National. Say hello if you see me in my dorky Clemente shirt Pirates hat and net54 pin. Not that the net54 pin is dorky...

Two Hindu SLers, two auto balls (Snider, Killebrew) and a whole lot of 80s wax (mindless entertainment).
