Look how many Wagners there are- that's insane! Yet there's only one Matty, and I think one Jennings and Tinker (my head spun reading that list). So Matty will still be near impossible in high grade, and Wagners will be all over the place.

Saw that Barry, sort of funny the one card I wanted Mathewson...and he's pretty tight. I would be very nervous about putting out big bucks on Matty...my luck next week they toss up 50 of him in higher grades.

The Matty is not for sale individually anyway, so you're safe

Thanks for posting the list Dan...this find is comparable in scope, and probably even more impressive, than the Tango Eggs discovery. My lord.

Having put together what I thought was a nice mid grade red near set (missing only Cobb and Lajoie), I am sick over this find. Jealous? Yes. Sick? Totally. To answer the question about the values of the E98s and specifically the red E98s, only time will tell but with all those high grade E98 reds floating around, I am sure glad my interest in the reddies was based on aesthetics and not rarity
![]() Please note how many red Lajoies were found, or Lajoies in general. I stupidly and naively sold an SGC 40 red Lajoie four years ago (hello Rob D) before I tried collecting the red subset and have spent the last 4 years looking for a decent one, to no avail. The red Lajoie may be, IMHO and now reaffirmed by the Black Swamp Find, the rarest E98 of them all. Last edited by tbob; 07-06-2012 at 03:13 PM. |
