They also gave away nice checklists at the stores - I still have my (half checked!) checklists somewhere in the abyss!

Here is an example of one:

Thanks for the checklist and another Lou Brock chase item to look for........

Hey... I've got a collection of these as well! I wasn't sure what to do with them... (not meaning storage, but whether to sell) Are they worth anything? I've probably got about 20 to 25 of them... some are stars...

For 40 year old collectibles, they aren't worth as much as you would expect. I'm guessing they "book" for $2-$20 each depending on the player, if they are in nice shape. A lot of them went through the dishwasher, or were kept in sunlight, so many are faded or have graphics loss - these would have little value. Maybe some of you have bought or sold some of these more recently than I can weigh in.

speaking of Manny? I don't think so.. I can't say that I've ever known anyone to collect him... Is he your favorite player?

I collect 1970s Pirates and my favorites are Sanguillen, Rennie Stennett, and the pinch runner Matt Alexander. And, just started a Danny Murtaugh collection so that I'll be able to spend some money at the National.
