I put mine on a shelf...... From collecting Lou Brock, I can tell you there are many different variations on these cups, every one up there is significantly different in some way.
Also, they do split easily, if they split, I just taped them back together from the inside with clear box sealing tape. They have little value, and are quite readily available on ebay. |

Great memories of going to the 7-11 after my baseball games as a 7 and 8 year old. I think they always just seemed to have only 2 or 3 different players available - an impossible set to put together as a kid! (But I drank a lot of Slurpess and did my best!)
I put a small thin shelf up about 6 inches from the ceing going all the way around my bedroom in the 70s - the colors were great and they were away from any direct (or indirect) sunlight. They will last a long time, but any sunlight will first fade and then make them so brittle that they will crumble in your hands. If you are looking for something to protect them, maybe you could look to see if those Beanie Baby cases would work. And, I am guessing you could get a bunch of the holders pretty cheaply nowadays... |

Does anyone know if there is a checklist of these cups?

If you are looking for a listing:
http://www.oldbaseball.com/MegaCheck...Cups&year=1972 http://www.oldbaseball.com/MegaCheck...Cups&year=1973 They also gave away nice checklists at the stores - I still have my (half checked!) checklists somewhere in the abyss! Here is an example of one: http://www.hydroponicsonline.com/sto...937430436.html |

I have quite a few of these from my childhood. I wrapped them in saran wrap and then stacked them together in a cardboard tube. BIG mistake!!! When I removed them years later some of them lost paint which transferred to the plastic from the cup. Ironically Lou Brock got the worst of it.

Hey... I've got a collection of these as well! I wasn't sure what to do with them... (not meaning storage, but whether to sell) Are they worth anything? I've probably got about 20 to 25 of them... some are stars...

For 40 year old collectibles, they aren't worth as much as you would expect. I'm guessing they "book" for $2-$20 each depending on the player, if they are in nice shape. A lot of them went through the dishwasher, or were kept in sunlight, so many are faded or have graphics loss - these would have little value. Maybe some of you have bought or sold some of these more recently than I can weigh in.
