The A in the caption of the Bender is actually supposed to look like that, even though it does look strange.
The grading co should reimburse for that one. Pretty big mistake. Rob |

I actually bought the card raw and submitted it at a show with a few other raw D304s. I never noticed it. Hard to blame the TPG since I knew what card I was buying. The seller might have mentioned it to me and not sold it at market price but that's another issue.
![]() I'm not going to go to the TPG and demand money based on them missing the same thing I did. I don't even care to mention which TPG because I'm not interested in that debate. I'm also not going back to the seller. Maybe he didn't notice either, maybe he did. Either way, I don't see the point. Also, I did buy the card and not the holder but in this case but was more concerned with the back actually, since it is a Martens back which is fairly rare for this card. I have many that I could add to this thread, but I picked up over 100 of these 1933 Goudey's that have been heavily modified. Love the four versions of Alvin Crowder. I've always loved the way these look (the black border is an improvement in my opinion) ... but they look a little too professionally to be done by a kid in my opinion. Although if they were, that's a very talented kid! [Oh, and if anyone ever finds anymore of these ... let me know! I'm interested in getting more.]

![]() ![]() The two top cards are pictures pasted onto 1960 commons. The bottom card has a different hat pasted on. It looks like a new team name was pasted on at one time as well, but it is gone. |

Both a little tough in their own way. The Howell sort of grows on you, the Burchell not as much.

I lovingly refer to the below card as "Exorcist" Bill Dahlen due the perfectly placed inkspot. It is probably one of my favorite cards, due to the post-production modification.

I know this is out of place in this forum, but I need some sympathy, so
As a kid I was obsessed with knowing how many cards I had. (Hey, it takes all kinds.) Anyhow, as I counted I kept track the best way I could think of. Now why couldn't I have hit 100 with Reno Bertoia or 200 with Mayo Smith? |

Steve, That Howell reminds me of the Topps Who Am I ? from the 60's, maybe there's a Wagner under there
