From the classic 1984 screwball comedy "Top Secret" starring Val Kilmer

...the East German bad guys have arrested protagonist Nick Rivers (played by Kilmer), and have tortured him to obtain secrets....

First Jail Guard: "They're still working on him. He won't break."

Second Jail Guard: "They've tried everything."

First Jail Guard: "Do you want me to bring out the LeRoy Neiman paintings?"

East German Commander:"No. We cannot risk violating the Geneva Convention."

Classic stuff.

While I consider lots of my stuff to be "works of art" (Harper's and Leslie's woodcuts, etc), the only actual piece of art that I own is this pencil sketch with an incorrect date. Thanx to Scott Gaynor for giving me the chance to buy this Christmas present for myself.

Sad to hear of his passing. I loved his work. Enough to own some paintings of his. Not sports though.

RIP
