1955 Topps uncut sheets

So the REA 5x5 grid (the one with Aaron) correlates perfectly to the 110 card image. That one I've seen. The second 5x5 grid posted is new to me. And there is a correlation problem with the 110 card image. The last column, cards #2 and 3 down, do not appear to match. In fact, the third row down card appears to be another Wally MOON on the 110 image. This is confirmed to also appear on row 10 columns 5 and 11. It may not be the Moon, but it is definitely not the card shown in the second 5x5 image.

I would think that there has to be some uncut sheets of the T'55 set somewhere. I would be intrested in knowing how the cards where placed on the uncut sheets. Does anyone have any info about the way the cards were placed on the sheet?

If you ever have the oppertunity to see the complete set together all lined up it a beautiful sight indeed!

Is it possible that the old REA scan is of the '55 stamps? If you look at the images on that compared to the full color (and amazing) sheet, there are players repeated in columns that are different than that REA shot. Billy Herman is repeated in a different position than on the color sheet, and Carl Spooner shows up in different places on the b&w photo and the 5x5 cut (but not the big color shyer) Also, and less persuasive given the quality of the shot, it appears that the REA shot has perforations around the edges.

The 55 sheets seem inconsistent to me in terms of replication of rows across the sheets-there is some randomness not normally associated with Topps on the two sheets shown. I think they left spots open to allow for players contested by Bowman to be pulled and replaced with cards of other players on the sheet if they had to.

The REA B&W sheet is not stamps, it's definitely cards, as confirmed to me by Rob. I have a schematic of the stamps I have worked up, I have to reformat it to get it to show here-working on it tonight maybe.

This is the array I have worked up for the stamps, which you can correlate to John's two color partials (his top one is the bottom part of the sheet and eliminate the left columns on each). The REA B&W sheet above has variance in the array beyond the normal Topps method of replicating rows - some cards are randomly placed and there is at least one quadruple print-I have not yet figured out the whole B&W sheet and won't have a chance for a while. The full color sheet is intriguing but much more normalized; I am not yet convinced Topps only used two sheets for each print run like they normally did for the baseball cards-it may have been more in 1955, which is also the first year of 110 card sheets. Players in red are unconfirmed; I have included Aaron as confirmed as two separate sources indicate it exists. You will note each row and column has at least one confirmed stamp in it, which leads me to belive the unconfirmed stamps should have been printed.

The size of this array roughly matches that of a 1955 Rails & Sails uncut stamp sheet as well-that one had a lot of partials but I am not sure if the baseball stamps have any known partials.

Wow! Just Wow! It almost looks like my set when I have it all out lined up next to each other. Thanks for the picture! Looking at this sheet I do not see any pattern. It looks like they were just randomly placed on this sheet.
