I live just south of KC and would recommend the following:
Museums: Negro Leagues Museum at 27th and Brooklyn. Very close to where old Municipal Stadium was located (A's). Also, Nelson-Atkins for art in general, and the Kemper Museum for modern art. Baseball Card shops: Almost non-existant. Antique shops: Brass Armadillo on I70 in Blue Springs; Waldo Antique Mall, 75th and Wornall( a little junky, but an occasional find). There are also two or three antique stores/flea markets just east of Columbia on I70 you may want to check out on your way in. River Market Antiques in the River Market area just off the I 35 north loop in Kansas City. Other interesting areas: Crown Center, Union Station and the Plaza Food: Jack's Stack 90th(?) and Metcalf on the Kansas side. Any number of great restaurants on the Plaza. |
