Default Which Graders will note t206 anomalies, errors & provenance?

I have seen old slabs that note things like double name, missing red ink, so & so collection. I know some of the collections get provenance - Lipset, Bray - but I assume that happened all at once. Will anyone provenance one -offs?

I have several oddities that I would like represented on the slab if possible - double backs, missing red, double name, double factory, Fitzgerald stamps, Burdick stamp, Howe McCormick, registration errors, etc.

Will anyone still do this - obviously not as a qualifier? I have never seen the backstamps noted other than with qualifiers (MK) - but it would be awesome if someone would note it on the slab.

What about provenance - For instance I have 2 cards that I bought from Scot Reader that I think would be very cool to have slabbed with that information. I also have a handful of cards that were written on by Buck Barker in doing research on the players - and some other researcher that I have yet to identify - I need to post them here as I'm near certain that someone here will know who it is.

I did see that CGC will add provenance (either someone they believe is "worthy" or you can add your name for an added fee of course), and they also note errors - but not sure to what extent. Along this line - anyone have thoughts on CGC slabs - they are one of the 4 accepted to the PSA vault (Not that I ever vault anything - but when time comes to sell it may be worth it). I also see two different slab types - one with a unappealing penny sleeve in the slab and one without that looks pretty good. Anybody know which is current? CGC also looks to have a registry. I can't confirm if SGC does or not??

Personally I strongly prefer the aesthetics of SGC holders and that is the only company I have ever made a submission to, but if I get some of these oddities noted on the slab that would be great - right now I just tag the holders with painters tape and notes so I don't miss it or forget - have to do that with Piedmont 42's too!

SGC used to note printing errors on the flip. But, I heard as of the last year or two, they weren't anymore (rumor, truth, not sure. Maybe others can join the conversation)...

I was the one who convinced SGC to start adding printing anomaly notes on the labels. I had them note the very first one (I believe it was Elberfled, that was missing ink), circa 2005.

PSA for a while followed suit and was labeling errors, but that might've stopped as well.

Re: adding a collector's name, I don't think they do that often, rarely. Would need to be a very important collection or big find.

Thanks for the response - this is the impression I am getting - they used to do it, but don't do it anymore?

I've reached out to SGC & CGC directly to see how/what is able to be noted on the flip. I guess I should do the same for PSA.

I said Lew Lipsett - I meant Lionel Carter as a named collection. I have several from Bray's collection, none from Carter's as they tend to be too nice for me.

Default SGC Update

From SGC customer support -

Thank you for reaching out. I spoke with our operations manager who confirmed that SGC is not currently notating any special descriptions on newly graded T206's. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Default CGC Update

Thank you for contacting us! I hope you are doing well today! Most sports/trading cards will not notate any errors on the label unless they are submitted and our graders designate them as such. If you are interested in submitting your cards as error cards, then I would recommend adding them to your submission and once you print off the packing slip for your order writing a handwritten note stating the errors for each card so our team will know what to look for and evaluate them as such. As for the pedigree, you can request this be placed on the label as well but our graders will have to review and approve this as well. I hope this helps!

Default PSA update

If the print error is recognized by the manufacturer and listed on the official checklist, it will likely be put on the label.

Apparently emails from PSA go to spam for me so I just saw this one. Anybody know which errors are recognized by ATC

They all for the most part quit labeling printing errors because most of them are really just sun faded to make them "missing ink". Can't remember what one but they actually were labeling the sun faded blue 1958 Tops Hank Aaron cards as real missing ink cards for a short time.
