BASEBALL & FOOTBALL AUTOGRAPHS RECENT ACQUISITIONS
100) HANK GREENBERG Fantastic handwritten letter that mentions the 1934 World Series ! Dated March 24th , 1979 Measures 6x7 and is written on Greenberg's personal letterhead. Entirely in his hand and signed boldly at conclusion. Comes with an unsigned Perez/Steele art postcard for display. Most Valuable player award winner in 1935 & 1940 he led the league in home runs Four times. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1956 he died in 1986. $450.00
101) WILLIE GALIMORE 3X5 signed boldly and has also written "Chicago Bears" One of the all time tough football autographs to find. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame and after being drafted by the Chicago Bears played in the NFL for them from 1957-63. A halfback many of his peers including Chuck Bednarik and Doug Atkins referred to Galimore as one of the best runners they ever faced. He was well on his way to a Hall of Fame career before being killed in an auto accident in 1964. He was only 29 years old. $1,100.00
102) WALLACE BUTTS fold out flyer circa 1955 features a photo of Butts on the cover which he has signed boldly in fountain pen. Measures 4x9 the front of the flyer reads "Georgia's Wallace Butts , Dean of S.E. Conference Head Football Coaches" Head coach for the University of Georgia 1939-1960 His Bulldogs won two National Championships in 1942 and 1946. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame he died in 1973. $125.00
103) BOBBY DODD full page typewritten letter measures 8 1/2 x 11 and is written on the letterhead of "Georgia Tech Athletic Association, Atlanta Georgia" and is dated 1/12/1953. Elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as player and coach something only three people have accomplished. He died in 1988. $75.00
104) FRANK LEAHY full page typewritten letter written on "University of Notre Dame" letterhead and dated March 14th , 1952. Measures 8 1/2 x 11. Member of the College Football Hall of Fame he died in 1973. $125.00
105) GENE BRITO Vintage 8x10 photo with long inscription. Fabulous original photo of Brito in uniform. Played nine seasons in the NFL with the Redskins and Rams , voted 1955 player of the year. He died age 39 of ALS in 1965. $350.00
106) HARRY AGGANIS 8x10 color photo from "Sport" magazine measures 8x10 and pictures Agganis in football uniform. Signed and inscribed in fountain pen in the lower right corner , Signed close to the margin of the photo but in the light area. Photo has one vertical and three horizontal creases from where the original collector mailed it to Agganis for his autograph. A Quarterback for Boston University and the 1st All American to hail from that school. He was heavily recruited to play football but instead signed with the Boston Red Sox in 1954 playing only part of that season and a portion of the next he died of a pulmonary embolism in 1955. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame and very tough autograph ! $350.00
108) JOCKO CONLAN AUTOGRAPHED 1955 BOWMAN BASEBALL CARD #303 generally regarded as the toughest signed cards to complete the set which was issued in limited numbers anyway having been bought out by Topps. The umpire cards did not hit the market until football season was then underway and many fans had lost interest. Being the first set that featured umpires many young collectors did not even save them let alone get them signed , Vintage ball point signature of this Hall of Fame umpire on the light portion , card would likely grade Ex + or better and the signature a 9/10 $500.00
109) CAL HUBBARD AUTOGRAPHED 1955 BOWMAN BASEBALL CARD #315 generally regarded as the toughest signed cards to complete the set which was issued in limited numbers anyway having been bought out by Topps. The umpire cards did not hit the market until football season was then underway and many fans had lost interest. Being the first set that featured umpires many young collectors did not even save them let alone get them signed ,Although the card itself is in Ex+ or better condition Hubbard has signed the left green shaded area of the card and does not contrast well. A good "filler" until a better speciman becomes available Hubbard is the only man to be inducted into BOTH the Baseball & Football Hall of Fame. $500.00
110) AL BARLICK AUTOGRAPHED 1955 BOWMAN BASEBALL CARD #265 generally regarded as the toughest signed cards to complete the set which was issued in limited numbers anyway having been bought out by Topps. The umpire cards did not hit the market until football season was then underway and many fans had lost interest. Being the first set that featured umpires many young collectors did not even save them let alone get them signed , Card itself would likely be considered Ex + or better but the signature which is vintage ball point has skipped somewhat on the glossy surface of the card and is light even though it is signed on the light blue area. Another tough Hall of Fame umpire from this popular set $500.00
112) ROBERT BYRNE 3 1/2 x 6 card on which he has signed and written his compete address. Played for the 1907-09 Cardinals, 1909-13 Pirates, 1913-17 Phillies and the 1917 White Sox. Best remembered as a member of the 1909 World Champion team and the 1915 pennant winning Phillies he died in 1964. $150.00
113) VERN BICKFORD 3 1/2 X 6 card signed on the lined side effective pitcher for the 1948-53 Braves and 1954 Orioles. Best remembered for pitching a no-hitter against the Dodgers in 1950. He died young in 1960. $150.00
114) MICKEY MANTLE -YOGI BERRA-HANK BAUER 8X10 BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO SIGNED BY ALL THREE ! crystal clear image of the trio leaning out of the dugout onto the infield grass. All are pictured in Yankees uniform including a very young Mantle. Photo was most likely taken circa 1953. Mantle has signed in blue sharpie and Bauer in black. Yogi has signed in ball point. Must see to appreciate !!! One of the finest signed Mantle items I have ever offered $450.00
115) 1970 NEW YORK YANKEES OPEN HOUSE INVITATION Signed by 9. 116) BUD WILKINSON Vintage 3x5 index card signed circa 1950's. Perfect signature on the unlined side. There is brown stain the size of a 25 cent piece at the far top left corner well away from the signature. All American football player, coach and broadcaster he is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. (Died-1994) $125.00
117) ALAN AMECHE 2X3 heavy stock card signed circa 1950's. Heisman Trophy winner 1954 he played for the Baltimore Colts 1955-60. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame he died in 1988. $100.00
118) ROBERT ZUPPKE 2X4 page signed in fountain pen and has also written "Best Wishes" Most likely trimmed from a fan's letter. Coached his teams to National Titles in 1914, 1919, 1923, 1927. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame he died in 1957. $100.00

Does anybody have or know of a Charlie Berry game used bat. He played in the 1920s and 30s. There was a bat that sold at Mears a fews years back but the funds were limited being a college student. If anybody knows of one or has one please let me know.
