I've also moved up in the age bracket, I've entered the final year of my twenties. Excuse me, while I yell at some whippersnappers to get off my lawn.

I taught History at the middle school level for six years and five at the sixth-grade level. During my time stationed at one middle school, I also worked in the office for seven years in community partnership and as the administrative designee, which meant I had to assist in many administrative roles, although I was still technically a teacher. Most of my career was spent teaching grades 4-6. Yes, a background in history could be a contributing factor in collecting baseball cards, although my wife would view it more in the light of budgetary delinquency. I am Topps dice game years old. My Dad told me he wanted to name me Mickey but my Mom was not having it.
In 1976 I went with my Dad to Connecticut for a card show. Kinda a hike for us George Lyons was there and had 2 Dice game cards a Mays and a common. I asked him how much he said $100 for the Mays $60 for the common. I could have said yes my lawn cutting was going well and had most of it in my pocket but I decided to ask my dad who was just a couple tables away. I go he says yes to Mays we go back and ....Sold.. so deflated We don't even buy the common. For a long time it was an unhappy memory. Now it is in the giant pile of early card show Memories of me and my Dad. And all of the great collectors I have met over the years |
