Default Joe Jackson bat

Just got this late teens era Joe Jackson decal bat. This Louisville Slugger model 40JJ is 36” long, completely original, un-cracked, and features a logo stamped on the knob that reads “Schmelzer’s Arms Co., KC, MO”. This is the longest Jackson decal bat that we’ve ever seen, remaining in excellent + condition, and boasting an awesome “Black Betsy” like finish and patina.

Default W&D Crescent Padded Glove

Another April pickup here...early 1900's Wright and Ditson crescent padded fielder's glove...soft, supple, large for its style, and featuring a pristine patch...an immediate new "favorite" in the collection.

Default Just arrived today

1927 World Series Type 1.
Pics are 4.5 x 7 and 4.5 x 6.
They depict Lou Gehrig making a play at first base and Gehrig sliding into third.

They were pasted in a scrap book. The black paper at the bottom of the second pic is from the scrapbook.

Two terrific rare early images of Gehrig doing all the little things that would help mold him into a great leader of his teammates.

I think Lou had a pretty simple approach, which was... lead by example and hit the crap out of the ole horsehide!

Great pick ups Mark. I must say that you are really showing a very keen eye in your choosing of photos! Well done Mark, well done indeed.

BTW... Henry Yee's listings today are mostly Movie Stars, Politics, Historic Moments, Music, and Americana and there are many incredibly photos. Many of which are as iconic as they get. I'm also pretty sure he will add some more Baseball a bit later as that has been his MO in the past...

Default 1932 Cleveland Indians Score Card - 1st Game at Cleveland Stadium

Just pick this up off of Ebay. Had a hunch on what it was and was later confirmed in some discussions with Rob D. (Thanks Rob!). Scorecard from the first game at old Cleveland Stadium - Lefty Grove vs. Mel Harder and the Athletics beat the Tribe 1-0 on July 31, 1932.

AWESOME pick-up, Kevin! I can't even imagine what it must have been like to be at that game in the cavernous stadium...
